SueAnn Wahking, 81, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, August 5, 2022. SueAnn was a devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star and held numerous positions, including Worthy Matron, in several chapters in Indiana, Florida, and Germany. As the spouse of a Navy man, she had the opportunity and loved the experience of living in and visiting numerous places along the United States Eastern Coast and Europe.
She was born on July 8, 1941, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Roger and Doris (Mildred) McHugh Martin.
SueAnn is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, John Thomas Wahking; son, Marty (Renodda) Wahking; daughter, Loriann (Brian) Wahking; grandchildren, Sarah (Nick) Munn, Sheldon (Rachel) Albertson, Tori Logsdon, Mick Wahking, Autumn Logsdon, and Storm Wahking; great-grandchildren, Gracelyn, Wade, Liliana, and Madison; childhood and life-long friend, Ann Keith; and her amazing caregivers, Cindy Plowman, Janice Sweet, and Amanda Stringer.
Cremation was chosen following SueAnn's wishes. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) was entrusted with her care.
