Darlene Mae Meredith, 72, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022. Darlene was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed gambling, BINGO, church picnics, bowling, dancing and was the life of the party. Darlene will be remember for her wonderful cooking, her love of Christmas, and her sense of humor. She was an avid UK basketball fan. She loved TMC movies and crocheting; each new baby in the family received a beautiful blanket from Darlene. She will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

She was born on February 25, 1950 in Louisville, Kentucky to Kenneth and Wilma (Tarrence) Kinser. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Darlene is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Gary Meredith; sister, Sheila (Bobby Meredith) Elliott; children, Vanessa Courtney, Stacy (Monte) LeGrand, Crystal (Tom Courtney) Mattingly, and Toby Meredith; 8 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 27, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions-Southwest Louisville Chapel. Her Funeral Service will be on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests that contributions in Darlene’s memory be made to the American Cancer Society.
