She is predeceased by her husband Thomas F. Leis. She devoted her life to their 61 years of marriage and raising their 2 children. Sandy also had a generous loving heart for her grandchildren and extended family as well. She is also predeceased by her brothers, Jimmy and Mike.
She is survived by her son, Thomas H. Leis(Cathy Parsons Leis), her daughter, Rebecca Benningfield, her grandchildren, Audrey Leis Gossom (Jeremy), Marshall Thomas Leis, Ronnie Allen (Brandy) and Daryk Benningfield (Ashleigh), 7 great grandchildren, her sisters, Margie (Gary), Nan (Alan), and Robin (Cindy), and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 4 to 7 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive). A funeral service will be held the next day at 11 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
