In Memory Of
Corey Steven "Chainsaw" Sandlin
1988 - 2022

Corey Steven "Chainsaw" Sandlin, 33, of Lanesville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022. He was born on November 22, 1988, in Louisville, Kentucky.

How do you say goodbye to a force of nature? Corey Sandlin, or Chainsaw, as he was known in the haunted house industry, loved to shock people, whether he was using his razor-sharp wit or throwing himself at unfortunate visitors of the haunted house. He has shocked us all again with his sudden passing.

Corey had a gentle soul that he took great pains to hide from people, but a few of us were able to get a glimpse. He loved kids, dogs, White Castle, TV, and disgustingly sweet snacks. In life, he occupied 6’4” of physical space. In death, he leaves us with a hole in our hearts as big as the universe.

Corey is survived by his mother, Cherri Sandlin; father, Steve (Toni) Bowers; brother, Cole Bowers; aunts and uncles, Kathy (Joe) Wagner, Gail Suell, Mike (Kim) Sandlin, Debbie Daub, and Cris (Anna) Sandlin; and many cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
