Jimmy earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Kentucky University and his Master of Arts degree in Film Studies from the University of Louisville. He was a tutor and free-lance teacher for many years.
Jimmy loved travel, which took him all over Europe and all over the United States. He lived in San Francisco, Portland, Oregon, and New York before returning to Louisville, Ky and eventually making a home with Keith McGill, his partner of 30 years.
Jimmy Reeves is preceded in death by his mother Frances McConnell Reeves and his father Scott Reeves. He is survived by his partner Keith McGill, his sister Debbie Reeves Jenkins and his nephew, Debbie’s son, Dylan Jenkins.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the celebration of life beginning at 4:00 pm on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
In lieu of flowers, Jimmy’s family requests donations in his name to the Human Rights Campaign by visiting www.hrc.org or Human Rights Campaign 1640 Rhode Island Ave. N.W. Washington, DC 20036-3278.
