David L. Murphy, 80, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022. David was a member of Georgetown Christian Church, was an avid golfer and NASCAR fan, and an avid UK and WKU sports fan. In his younger years, he enjoyed farming with his family, being a cub scout leader, and participating in and coaching softball, baseball, and basketball.

He was born on September 29, 1941, in Lancaster, Kentucky, to the late Bailey and Edna (Casey) Murphy. Along with his parents, David is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Todd Kochert; and daughter-in-law, Stefany Murphy.

David is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Murphy; children, Jerry (Laurie) Murphy, Robyn Murphy, and Susan Kochert; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Cynthia Jennings; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022, at Georgetown Christian Church, (9420 State Road 64) in Georgetown, Indiana, and will continue from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the Ramsey Funeral Home (315 Richmond Street) in Lancaster, Kentucky. His Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Ramsey Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Lancaster Cemetery in Lancaster, Kentucky.

The family strongly requests that contributions in David’s memory be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society. The family asks that if anyone is sending flowers to please not send anything with lilies in the arrangements due to issues with allergies.
