In Memory Of
Steven Anthony Fischer
1956 - 2022

Steven Anthony "Steve" Fischer, 65, of Borden, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Steve loved being in his barn around his animals and playing with his grandchildren. He enjoyed mowing, rolling up and down his driveway listening to podcasts and music, and soaking up the sun in front of his barn or his niece's school bus. Steve was known for making a list of chores for others to complete just to have them around to visit with him. He loved watching his grandchildren play basketball and enjoyed playing cards and games with his family and friends.

He was born on May 31, 1956, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Bernard and Dorothy (Wolfe) Fischer.

Steve is survived by his wife, Diane (Miller) Fischer; daughters, Krista Fischer, Candace (Cory) Donahoe, and Karry (Steven Ray) Heath; grandchildren, Brennan Eurton, Ethan Eurton, Brody Eurton, and Myla Donahoe; sisters, Kathy (Bill) Scovill, Barb Fischer, and Theresa (Chris) Tisheuar; brother, Daryl Fischer; "favorite" niece and friend, Missy (David) Kochert; and many other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, January 15th, 2022 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in the St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church Activity Center (7500 Navilleton Road Floyds Knobs, IN 47119). The family asks that everyone comes dressed in their favorite jeans and sweaters and share your favorite memories of Steve.

The family requests that contributions in Steve’s memory be made to Dare to Care (P.O. Box 35458 Louisville, KY 40232) or to Heifer International (1 World Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72202).

The family suggests that trees be planted as a way of honoring Steve and his legacy. When the family first moved to their home 25 years ago, only one tree stood on their property. Today, almost forty trees stand on the family's land that Steve and his family have planted. Please let the family know when and where a tree is planted in his honor or when a donation is made to his favorite charity. This tree can simply be planted in your own yard to remember him by.
