Louise Akins, 83, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 25, 2021. Louise was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend. She graduated from Cameren High School in Nashville, TN. She spread love wherever she went with a smile on her face. She could light up any room she walked in. She will truly be missed by many and will live in our hearts forever.

She was born on June 29, 1938 and raised in Nashville, Tennessee to Robert and Sang (Batey) Britton. She is preceded in death by her Father, Robert Britton, Sr., Mother, Sang Britton, Husband, James Akins, Sr., Daughter, Pamela Woods, Step-Sons, Dexter Akins and Charlie Akins, Jr., siblings, Robert Batey, Jr., Mary Owens and Ernest Batey.

Louise is survived by her loving family, Step-Daughter, Erma Akins; Granddaughter, Brittany Richardson; Grandson, Kellin Richardson; Step-Grandson, Anthony Morris; Great-Granddaughter, Karmen Roberson; Nephew, Ronald Batey as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Celebration of Life Service will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.
