Duane Richard Welsh, 68, of Brandenburg, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021. Duane was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with the family and especially the grandchildren. Duane in his early years worked construction until 1974. He then joined the United States Army in 1974 and served until 1976. After leaving the Army, Duane went to work for Molesworth Paving. He then rejoined the Army in 1980 and stayed Active Duty until 1990, and stayed in Kentucky. His last job was with River Metals and he enjoyed working with the crew. Duane was an outgoing person and never met a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He was born on October 18, 1953 in Fort Gratiot Township, Michigan to Wayne and Lenora (Smith) Welsh. He is preceded in death by his Parents, and Brother, Phil Welsh.

Duane is survived by his loving Wife of 20 years, Sherry Welsh, Daughters, Lori Willis, and Bobbi (Michael) Hammond, Son, Michael (Dottie) Merideth, Sisters, Ann (Fred) Jones, and Ina Barnes, Brothers, Bob Welsh, and Keith (Michelle) Welsh, Grandchildren: Bobbie, Michael, James, Kyle, Madison, Micca, Lorissia, Branson, Mercedes, and Tristan. Duane also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Extended Family.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff, Kentucky.
