James Kirk Miller
1957 - 2021

James Kirk Miller, 64, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021.

He was born on June 4, 1957 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Robert and Syble (Stephens) Miller.

Kirk was a fun-loving, generous, jovial father and friend. He was an enthusiastic man whose hobbies were almost countless, but the most prominent ones include comedian, writer, chef, welder, luthier, musician, and absolutely anything having to do with bicycles. He was always full of new ideas, and if a project came to mind, he would at least attempt to tackle it (and more often than not, he was successful). He loved travel and was fortunate enough to do plenty of it throughout his career as a real-estate trainer. He shared his passions for life with everyone who had the pleasure to know him, and he never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Kirk is survived by daughters, January Eve Cumbea (Tyler), Carolina Auriel Miller, son, Oliver Christian Miller, mother of his children, Laura Duke and siblings Robert Miller, Paula Pratt (John), Erika Watkins (Kevin) and Laurel Walker.

Per Kirk's wishes cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at The Speed Art Museum (2035 S 3rd St, Louisville, KY 40208).

The family requests that contributions in Kirk’s memory be made to the American Civil Liberties Union.
