Alvin George Andres, 74, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021. He was a United States Navy veteran and a retired automotive mechanic. After retiring, Alvin went on to work for UPS in Louisville as a security guard. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed fishing and hunting. Alvin also liked watching old Western movies and the Game Show Network.

He was born on July 6, 1947, in New Albany, Indiana, to Earl and Bernice Andres. In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Andres; daughters, Barbara Sewell and Tanya Vaughn; and granddaughter, Michelle Vaughn.

Alvin is survived by his daughter, Nancy Hanna (Chad); son-in-law, Mike Sewell; grandchildren, Paula Hayes (Brian), Brittany Null (Trent), Tina Sewell (Richard), Joshua Sewell (Faith), Joey Burnette, Adrian Burnette, and Whitney Burnette; 23 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his funeral service taking place at 6:00 p.m. Cremation will follow, and Alvin will be laid to rest at Silver Creek Cemetery in Sellersburg, Indiana.
