David Marshall Carver of Pekin, Indiana, and of Southdown in Great Falls, Virginia, died on September 3, 2021, after a long illness.
Dedicated father of Christine Carver and David Carver, Jr., and also raised Jeremiah Smith as his own; beloved son of George A. Carver, Jr. (deceased), and Ruth Hughes Carver; caring brother of George A. Carver III (deceased), Christopher S. Carver, Douglas H.M. Carver, and Catherine R. Carver; adored grandfather of two and uncle of five nieces and nephews; and dear friend of his ex-wife Beth Carver.
He was born in Saigon, South Vietnam, on August 27, 1959, to a life full of travel. A child of his era, he bore witness to and was passionate about history, music, and the challenges of the common man. A teacher by nature, he loved to discuss and analyze the social movements of the ‘60s and ‘70s, religion, politics, and literature. He was actively involved in Restoration Christian Church until his illness prevented his participation. He maintained his generous, exceedingly loyal, and loving spirit to the end.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Restoration Christian Church in Sellersburg, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in David’s name to the American Diabetes Association (diabetes.org).
