SMSgt (Ret.) Richard "Rick" Kitchen, 73, of Louisville, Kentucky, was received Home on Sunday, August 22, 2021.

He was born on December 7, 1947 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Rick was a True Patriot, he was a decorated Vietnam Veteran serving from 1968 until 1970 and retiring in 1995. He honorably served 6 years in the U.S. Navy and retired after 20 years in the U.S. AirForce. He grew up attending Walnut Street Baptist Church was a member of First Baptist Church of Middletown. Rick served his Lord first and foremost in his life and proudly served his country for 26 years.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Joanne Funk Kitchen; parents, Chester Lee and Betty Faye (Chambers) Kitchen; sons, Billy Funk and Christopher Kitchen (McCall); daughter, Sherry McKinzie (Terry); sister, Jennifer Gardner (Larry); nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends..

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 pm on Friday, August 27, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Middletown (11721 Main St, Middletown, KY 40243). Masks will be required.

The family requests that contributions in Rick’s memory be made to First Baptist Church of Middletown.
