Roy William "Buck" Whitlock, age 83, passed away August 20, 2021 at his home in Louisville, KY.
Buck was born August 29, 1937 in Louisville to Mary Catherine and Roy Whitlock. He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from General Electric after thirty-three years. For years, Buck was an enthusiastic baseball and softball coach at Beechmont Youth Sports and Iroquois High School. A lifelong learner, Buck loved military history and conversation about a wide range of topics. He was an avid fan of University of Kentucky athletics and the Cincinnati Reds. His laughter will echo for years to come.
Buck is survived by his wife of sixty years, Mary Evelyn Whitlock; along with three children, David Whitlock (Michele), Doug Whitlock (Leanne), and Denise Gill (Andrew); five grandchildren, Brittany Hoffman (Ryan), Mary Whitlock, Samantha Morris (Tyler), Caleb Gill (Courtney), and Emily Bhade (Karn); and seven great grandchildren, Alexis Morris, Trevor Morris, William Morris, Benjamin Morris, Campbell Hoffman, Piper Hoffman and Grant Hoffman. Buck has one brother, Richard Whitlock (Marcy).
Graveside services will be 1:30 pm on Friday, November 5, 2021 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 North Dixie Highway, Radcliff, Kentucky 40160.
