Kathryn Mcclure (Mcknight-Hall)

January 6, 1935 — July 17, 2021

Our mother, Kathryn McClure (McKnight-Hall), long anticipated the glory of the day she would meet her Lord and Savior, but always made it her priority to live big until that day came. And live BIG she did! From the day she was born on January 6, 1935, to the day she peacefully went to heaven, July 17, 2021, she loved being the center of attention. This proved to be true throughout her life, but we will always treasure the memories we made with her the night before she left us, as she danced, sang, and was so happy being with her children at a dinner and live music show. As always, Mom stole the show with her moves on the dance floor!

Mom was the second to the youngest of 12 children born to John and Birdie McKnight. Mom said her childhood was relatively easy because her mom and dad were just plain tired by the time her and her youngest sister, and forever best friend Wilma Lee, were born. She said their older siblings simply spoiled them. Her only living sibling, Pauline (Nelson), will miss their sisterly talks, visits, and trips.

Mom was not only a beauty, but a wonderful mother. From sacrificing grocery money to make sure her five children had a book of swimming tickets, to setting strict curfews, to making sure we knew Jesus, we felt Mom's eternal love for each us: Sabrina Vann (Gary), Tamara Guelda (Steve), Shawn (Shawn Marie), Renee Guelda, and Shane (Angie). She also deeply loved her five stepchildren from her 25-year marriage to the 'love of her life', James McClure, who preceded her to heaven 12 years ago: Ellen McCreary (BJ), Debbie Bassler (Craig), Karen Beatty (Bryan), Patty Endicott (Chris), and JP (Lynn). She also loved to brag that she had 30 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She adored the attention she received from her many nieces and nephews, all who absolutely cherished and enjoyed her zany ways. She also has many Facebook followers and she absolutely loved reading their comments when a picture was posted that showed her enjoying life to its fullest.

Mom was insistent to have a huge celebration of her 86 years, so all are welcome to join her family in celebrating her life. Visitation will begin on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Southeast Christian Church's Chapel In The Woods (1407 Moser Rd). Her Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 pm. Following the Memorial Service, all are welcome to attend her last hoorah where she will indeed be the center of attention. The luncheon will be held at The Jeffersonian (10617 Taylorsville Rd).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mom's favorite organization, Hosparus Health of Louisville, by visiting https://hosparushealth.org/donate/.
While we are celebrating her earthly life well-lived, we are confident that Mom is enjoying being the center of attention in heaven!
