Gloria Arlene (Carter) Stoner , 82, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.

Gloria was born to Linwood and Mary Lee Wilkins, May 6, 1939, in Detroit Michigan. Both her parents proceeded her in death. Gloria along with her mother and sister moved to Louisville at a early age. She received her education at JCPS, Kokomo High School and JCTC. She received her certification for Nurses' Assistant in 1964.

Gloria worked many jobs to take care of her family. She worked as a Nurses' Assistant for Kokomo Convalescent Center and St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo, IN and Georgetown Nursing Home in Louisville, KY. She worked as a Nanny, Teacher Assistant (JCPS), Insurance Agent, Staff Manager, and Assistant District Manager (American General Insurance Co., Mammath and Atlanta Life Insurance Company). She worked as a Bant Teller (National City Bank) an office worker at JCTC. Gloria retired from JCTC Budget Department.

Gloria professed her hope in Christ at an early age at Eastern Star Baptist Church. Later in years, she united with Antioch Baptist Church. She worked in Sunday School, nursery, care ministry, health ministry, youth choir, vacation Bible school. Gloria was always willing to fill whereever she was asked.

Gloria is preceded in death by her son, Charles "Willie" Johnson, Jr., granddaughter, Tanika Mwanza, great granddaughter, Treasurer Lipscomb, and great grandson, Treyshaun Lipscomb.

Gloria leaves to mourn her passing 3 daughters, Melvenar Beavers-Gladney (Avery), Myra Woodard-Shobe (Von Allen) and Tonia Stoner, 2 sons, Allen Stoner (Dianna) and Theodore "Ted" Woodard, 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 1 great great grand child, 3 sisters, Linda Crawford, Caroyln Anderson and Christine Western (Jesse) and 1 brother, Horace Collier Jr. (Johnetta) and extended family, the Dennis children and a host of relatives and friends, and a special friend, George Howerton.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 10-12pm at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 3315 Dixie Hwy. A service celebrating Gloria's life will take place at 12pm at the church.
