Rita "Honey" Clark, 72, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021.

She was born on June 3, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky to Walter and Mary (Truman) Mabe. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Leon Mabe.

Rita retired from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary; she also received her certificate from Clown School while attending the Seminary. Rita was many things to so many people. Most importantly, Rita was a faithful and loving companion to her husband, Gaylon, and an amazing mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Rita is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Gaylon B. Clark, daughter, Melissa Ann Cantrell, step sons, Matthew (Crystal) and Samuel Clark, granddaughter, Tiffany Cantrell, step grandchildren, Khera, Matthew Jr., Ava, Liam and Able Clark, and her great grandson, Kristopher Eldridge-Cantrell, along with her brother, Mickey (Diane) Mabe.

A memorial visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). A memorial service celebrating Rita's life will be at 4:30 pm on Monday, at the funeral home.

The family requests if someone would like to send expressions of sympathy, it can be made to the KY Humane Society .
