In Memory Of
John D. Hinnant, Jr.
1957 - 2021

John D. Hinnant, Jr., 63, formerly of Charlotte, NC, lost his battle due to complications from cancer at U of L Hospital on Tuesday April 27, 2021. John was born on September 12, 1957 and was preceded in death by his father, John D. Hinnant, Sr. and his mother, Doris M. Hinnant.

John loved spending time with his family and was an avid NASCAR fan. He also loved all things BOND…JAMES BOND. According to John, SEAN CONNERY was the only actor who did the role justice. He loved boating and could find great peace on the lake. Like his sisters, he adored his extended fur family and loved having them visit for treats!

Life was not always easy for John, but you would not hear him complain. He had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was particularly concerned for the homeless. He was always giving whatever he had to others. He loved the Lord and was assured of his eternity.

John is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Hinnant, sisters, Susan Hinnant, Donna Hinnant-Rymarz (Roger), nephews, Zach and Sam Rymarz, stepdaughters, Daphne Lizotte, and Carolee Adams, and dear friend and sister, Tina Bryant. John was loved and will be greatly missed.

We would like to express our appreciation to his most recent caregivers at U of L Hospital. The care and respect shown to John and his family during his last days have far exceeded our expectations. His Oncology team, the Palliative team, and the entire staff of 5 East were amazing.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (235 Juneau Dr), with his memorial service to follow at 2:00 pm.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions in John’s memory be made to The Healing Place, Daystar Ministries, or Wayside Christian Mission.
