David Michael Hellman, Sr., 78, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 11, 2021. David was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and loved woodworking, fishing, cutting grass, and being with his grandchildren.

He was born on November 27, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Irvin and Cyrilla "Sue" (Zink) Hellman.

David is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Hellman; children, David M. (Jenny) Hellman, Jr., and Cynthia (Anthony) Hellman; grandchildren, Beth (Rob) Lowe, Crystal (Jake) Coddington, Faith (James) Coddington, Justin (Rachel) Miles, and Alex (Cory) Miles; great-grandchildren, Gracie (David) Lowe, Chloe Lowe, Brooke Lowe, Miley Lowe, Lucas Lowe, Laniey Lowe, and Tucker Stuthers; brothers, Jerry (Barbara) and Dennis (Beverly) Hellman; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family requests that contributions in David’s memory be made to Hosparus of Southern Indiana or St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church.
