In Memory Of
Nathaniel Alexander Carswell, Jr.
1948 - 2021

Nathaniel Alexander Carswell, Jr., age 72 of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 after a prolonged illness. He was born on September 8, 1948, to the late Nathaniel Alexander Carswell, Sr., and Nelle Cheek Carswell. He was a graduate of Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville and attended The University of the South in Sewanee, TN.

Nat was an entrepreneur and businessman. He was the founder of Commercial Office Suppliers and The Carswell Group. In his last several decades, he helped numerous individuals realize their own dreams of business ownership. He loved Alabama Crimson Tide Football and smoking ribs for friends and family.
His warm personality and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who met him.

Most importantly, Nat was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. He served for many years as a Ruling Elder in the Presbyterian Church in America and was a founding member of Community Presbyterian Church. For years, he served as a Sunday School teacher and hosted a Tuesday Night Bible Study, and was influential
in the lives of many through his teaching. Nat was preceded in death by his parents and his son Nathaniel Alexander Carswell III.

Nat was married to Linda Miner Carswell for over fifty years. Remaining to cherish his memory are his children, Jennifer (Roger) Daniel, John (Greta) Carswell, and Katherine Carswell; nine grandchildren, John, Roger, Brittnee, Peter, Evelyn, Abigail, Brannock, Clayton and Brennan; and a host of family and friends.

While it would be impossible to adequately express our appreciation to all of his wonderful caregivers, the family would especially like to recognize Dr. Michael Kommor and Dr. Matthew Jung for all of their work in caring for Nat in his final years.

Visitation will be 5 to 8pm on Friday, March 12, 2021 and 9:30 to 10:30am on Saturday, March 13th at Community Presbyterian Church, 13902 Factory Ln, Louisville, KY 40245. A celebration of Nat's life will be 10:30am on Saturday at the church, followed by burial in Floydsburg Cemetery, Crestwood, Kentucky.

Memorials in Nat’s memory can be made to Community Presbyterian Church, 13902 Factory Lane, Louisville, KY 40245.
