Thomas Lee Gies, 69, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Thomas was a man of faith who was a follower of Christ his entire life, and read his Bible, and walked with God daily. He was a member of Shawnee Baptist Church, where he drove the church bus, and helped with the security team. Thomas enjoyed playing golf and watching the PGA, and watching College Football with his family. He was an avid University of Louisville fan.

He was born on June 15, 1951 in Louisville, Kentucky to Andrew and Helen (Bell) Gies. He is preceded in death by his Sister, Barbara Peck, and Brother-In-Law, John Peck.

Thomas is survived by his loving Wife of 37 years, Rebecca Gies, Sons, Thomas Jordan Gies, Guillermo Lee (Alexandria) Gies, Aaron Thomas Gies, and Andrew Jesse Gies, Parents, Andrew & Helen, Gies, Grandchildren, Diana Gies, Guillermo Gies, Jr., Noah Gies, Matteo Gies, Rylee Terrell, Reese Terrell, Russell Terrell, and Raelyn Terrell, Sisters, Carolyn (Luke) Donato, Suellen Warner, and Jayne (Jim) Woodring, Brothers, Andrew (Lynn) Gies, Jr., and Carl (Kendra) Gies. Thomas also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces and Nephews, Friends, Church Family, and his beloved dog Roxy.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Shawnee Baptist Church, (2214 Bank St.). His Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, at Shawnee Baptist Church with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff, Kentucky.

The family requests that contributions in Thomas’s memory be made to Shawnee Baptist Mission Programs.
