Victoria Lynn "Vickie" Shafer
1952 - 2021

Victoria Lynn "Vickie" Shafer, 68, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021. She was a retired nurse from Jewish Hospital after 40 plus years of service. Vickie was a life-long member of Grace Lutheran Church in New Albany and held a special place in her heart for the many pre-school children she cared for within the church's pre-school program. She will be remembered by her nieces and nephews as that special aunt who had a whimsical way of making stories and stuffed animals come to life.

She was born on September 19, 1952, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Ralph, Sr., and Blanche "Irene" (Allen) Shafer. Along with her parents, Vickie is preceded in death by her siblings, Alyce Shafer-Erdman and Ralph H. Shafer, Jr.

She is survived by her siblings, Richard (Theresa) Shafer and Cynthia "Colleen" (David) Garber; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Grace Lutheran Church (1787 Klerner Lane). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church with cremation to follow according to her wishes.
