Debra Carol Harrett, 65, of Coxs Creek, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021.

She was born on January 29, 1955 in Hamtramck, Michigan to Richard and Violet (Troutman) Cecil. Debra was a 1973 graduate of Marion C. Moore High School in Louisville.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David Wayne Harrett, father, Richard D. Cecil, Jr., sister, Rosemary Cecil Abram, and granddaughter, Brianna Conley.

Debra is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Michelle (Jarvis Jones) Vertrees of Forest, VA, Kimberly Allison Hawk of Shelbyville, KY, and Emily Kathleen (Bryan) Quillen of Louisville, KY, mother, Violet Dell Troutman of Bardstown, KY, sister, Sandra Gayle (Donald) Rutledge of Bardstown, KY, brother, Richard D. (Elaine) Cecil, III of Bardstown, KY, grandchildren, Jacinda, Justin, and Jordan Meadow Vertrees, Thomas Wilkerson, III, Madison and D.J. Hawk, and Hazel Quillen, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home in Middletown (235 Juneau Drive). Her Funeral Service will be at 6:00 pm on Sunday, at the funeral home and burial will be private at Evergreen Cemetery.

The family requests that contributions in Debra ’s memory be made to the WHAS Crusade for Children.
