Robert Thomas "Tommy" Sampson
1944 - 2021

Robert Thomas "Tommy" Sampson, 77, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021. Tommy enjoyed working on electronics and cars and was a collector of antique radios. He also enjoyed visiting with friends at the Sellersburg American Legion and playing the banjo and other musical instruments.

He was born on June 12, 1944, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Sidney and Flossie (Wilson) Sampson. Along with his parents, Tommy is preceded in death by his siblings, Amos Sampson, Ardella Druin, Imogene Lamaster, Anna R. Pinaula, Sidney Sampson, Jr., Franklin Sampson, Norman Sampson, and Howard Sampson.

Tommy is survived by his niece, Cheryl (Joey) Lyons; step-nephew, Michael Grimes, Jr.; and many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, his Funeral Service will be kept private with cremation to follow according to Tommy's wishes. He will be laid to rest in the Sellersburg Cemetery at a later date.
