Irvin Francis Rosenberger, 92, of Borden, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020. Irvin was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Starlight and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from G.E. after 34 years of service and was a member of the American Legion-Floyds Knobs Post, the Senior Club at St. Joe Hill and St. Mary of the Knobs, the G.E. Retirement Club, and the Local 761 Electrical Union. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, camping, sitting in the garage waving to neighbors, and being with his family.
He was born on August 3, 1928, in Borden, Indiana, to the late John and Loretto (Gettlefinger) Rosenberger. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Andrew, Melvin, and Nelson Rosenberger.
Irvin is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Mary (Wolfe) Rosenberger; children, Janice (Michael) Bryant, Doris (Mark) Gelback, Karen (Kenny) Roberts, Linda (Mike) Receveur, Brenda (Don) Andres, Michael Rosenberger, and John Rosenberger; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many extended family, friends, neighbors, and church members.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2020, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
