Shirley Ann (Carpenter) Andres, 80, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. Shirley was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a former member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church. She was a school bus driver for the New Albany-Floyd County School Corporation and enjoyed her job for almost 40 years. Shirley loved to play Euchre and enjoyed living and working on her family's farm with her husband and children. She loved her animals, especially her faithful companion, Bayer, and will be remembered for the generous and loving soul she had.

She was born on January 10, 1940, in Floyd County, Indiana, to the late Alfred and Helen (Sprigler) Carpenter. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Norbert J. Andres, Sr.

Shirley is survived by her loving children, Norbert Andres, Jr., and Shelley Andres; and many extended family members, friends, and fellow bus drivers.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church - New Albany with burial to follow at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery in Floyds Knobs, Indiana.

The family requests that contributions in Shirley’s memory be made to the New Albany-Floyd County Animal Shelter or to Holy Family Catholic Church.
