1954 - 2020

Alejandro Antonio "Alex" Rivera, 65, of Laconia, Indiana, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020. Alex Rivera was a loving companion, brother, father, and grandfather who served during the Vietnam war as a Marine. Alex loved the outdoors, went fishing and hunting every opportunity he had, and always had a funny story about his adventures. He loved basketball and football, especially the Spurs and Cowboys. He was proud of his daughter and grandchildren, especially his granddaughter, Camyle, who followed in the family footsteps as a Marine. Alex, you will be missed.

He was born on September 20, 1954, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Jose Jesus and Josefina (Villalobos) Rivera. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jose Rivera, Jr.; and daughter, Nicholle (Rivera) Cain.

Alex is survived by his loving companion, Belinda Burns Miller; sister, Rita Rivera; sister, Maria (Robert) Rivera Guerra; brother, Oscar Rivera; brother, Ricardo Rivera; stepdaughter, Theresa Wilbert; grandchildren, Anthony Stovall, Jr., Alyssa Cain, Camyle Cain, Jerrimiah Cain, Noah Cain, and Collin Cain; nephews, Arnold Romo, Michael (Veronica) Romo, and Jose Rivera III; nieces, Andrea Rivera, Teresa Rivera, and Marissa (Matthew) Wentling; and many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Memorial Service will follow at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen following Alex's wishes, and burial will take place at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas, at a later date.
