Samuel Rhett Phelps, age 23 of Louisville, gained his freedom on Monday, May 4, 2020. He graduated from Oldham County High School where he was a member of the chess club and was state champion in motocross. He was an avid drummer and loved music. Sam was known by Peanut to many of his family and friends. He was a kind hearted soul whose smile befriended many and would light up a room. He was preceded in death by his father, Rhett; grandparents, Festal “Pat” and Linda Phelps Neuner and Gary Carrithers.
Sam is survived by his loving mother, Angela “Angie” Phelps; siblings, Russell Phelps Tindall (Emily) and Abigail Christlin Phelps; aunts, Patti Bingham (Ernie), Lori Phelps-Browning (Kevin), Robin Carrithers-Henritti (Dan), Caroline Lee (Danny) and Jennifer Smith; uncle, Alan Carrithers (Rhonda); nephew, Corbin Tindall; many cousins; and a host of family and friends.
Services will be private.
