David Martin Schindler, 89, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020. He was a United States Air Force veteran and retiree from C.W. Transport. David was a life-long member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing cards and was also a member of the Floyds Knobs Community Club, VFW Post 1693, and Local 89 Teamsters Retiree Club.

He was born on August 5, 1930, in Floyds Knobs, Indiana, to the late Albert and Dorothy (Carpenter) Schindler. Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, Artie (Goff) Schindler; and siblings, Henrietta and Jerome Schindler.

David is survived by his daughter, Debra Hess (Matthew); stepson, Charles Corder; sisters, Joyce Schindler and Alberta Peay; brothers, Carl (Goldie), Bobby, Donnie (Barb), Kenny (Sarah), Mike (Nancy), and Joe Schindler (Joy); sister-in-law, Bonnie Schindler; grandchildren, Dustin Whiteman (Beth), Cody Whiteman, and Bree Lerner (Roget).

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the chapel at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church (5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
