Valerie Kay Spence, 65, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019. Kay worked and retired for many years at Kindred Hospital. Kay was a graduate of Central High School. She had a very gentle spirit and never in a rush or anxious for nothing. Kay was an avid Louisville Cardinal fan. She enjoyed watching the WNBA games with her mother

She was born on October 13, 1954 in Canton, Georgia to James and Ollie (Bates) Spence. She is preceded in death by her Father, James Spence, Sr., Granddaughter Ciera Spence, Brother, Paul Spence, and Devoted Friends Debra Jackson, and Barbara Brown.

Kay is survived by her, Sons, George Spence, and Kevin Spence, Daughters, Tracy (Abe) Frazier, and Johnisa Spence, Mother, Ollie Spence, Grandchildren, Paul, Tony, Demeeko, Edgar, Royal, Armanda, Jada, Tristen, Tyler, Giovonnie, Addison, and Spencer, Sister, Alicia (Kevin) Thomas, Sister, Cheryl Nickerson, Brother, Bruce (Marcella) Spence, Brother, Craig Spence, Brother, James (Roxanne) Spence, Jr., Sister, Karen (Demetrius) Hinkle, Brother, Danny (Loyce) Baker, Sister, Linda (Johnny) Williams, Brother, Rodney Oates, Sister, Renee Woods, Sister, Adrianne Lawson, and Aunt, Lorene Bates. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory 7 Great Grandchildren, Special Friend Lacy Perkins, a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Extended Family.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church(2973 Wilson Ave, Louisville). Her Funeral Service will be at 12::00 pm on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in Green Meadows Cemetery.
