David Kenneth McDonley, Jr., 68, of Salem, Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019. He retired from Louisville MSD and also proudly served on the Lake Dreamland Fire Department. David and his wife, Linda, were long-time foster parents and had formerly been recognized as Foster Parents of the Year in the state of Indiana.
He was born on February 19, 1951, in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, to the late David and Helen (Webb) McDonley. David was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda (Stark) McDonley; and son, Sean Michael McDonley.
David is survived by his children, Jennifer Gravel (Warren), Kristie Black (Chris), Jodie Williams (Jaylene), Daniel Williams, Sr., David McDonley (Amanda), and Dawn Brewer (Tim); sister, Gloria McDonley Pogue (Bill); and 8 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 11:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel at the funeral home with cremation to follow according to David's wishes. He will be laid to rest privately at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem, Indiana.
