Alvin Perry

.
During a period of transition, Alvin relocated to Jeffersonville, Indiana, marrying the former Jacqueline White; the happy couple enjoyed raising two sons, Ronald and Edward. While living in Jeffersonville, Alvin continued working in the manufacturing industry for over 20 years, while maintaining his commitment to the Army National Guard. Alvin enjoyed entertaining friends and family year-round. Known to be a jokester, he would routinely fire up the grill and prepare food for everyone who befriended him. Not only would Alvin have good eats, but he maintained a diverse music collection only a few could match. Of his many talents, Alvin was known to cut hair for many people in the neighborhood. Although he experienced health issues over an extended period, Alvin continued living his best life, enjoying family and friends. Even as his health declined, he maintained his quick wit, humor, and desire to love those who crossed his path. Further, he would routinely profess his belief in Christ. He was strong in stature and in his belief of God's purpose for him.
Alvin is preceded in death by his parents, James A. Perry, Sr., and Minnie Lee Perry; wife, Jacqueline White Perry; brothers, James A. Perry, Jr. and John William Clack; and son Ronald White. He is survived by his sons Kevin (Erika) Perry of Solon, Ohio, Terrell (Darlene) Perry of Nolensville, Tennessee, and Edward White of Jeffersonville, Indiana; siblings, Mary Gilbert of Pulaski, Tennessee, Noble (Donna) Perry of Pulaski, Tennessee, Larry Perry of Pulaski, Tennessee, Roxie Alexander of Huntsville, Alabama, and Jean Young of Pulaski, Tennessee. He is further survived by nine grandchildren, Jordan White, Kortrell White, Tayler Perry, Taylor White, Terrell Perry II, Kevin I. Perry, Jonathan Perry, Sidney Mason, and Dominica Flowers; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at First Trinity Baptist Church in Jeffersonville. His Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 Noon on Saturday at the church with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
