Dr. Ronald R. Nolan, 69, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. A graduate of Flaget High School and the IU School of Optometry, he was a lifelong and active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and an avid volunteer in his community. He practiced optometry with his father in a career that spanned 42 years and served on many medical eye missions to Honduras with VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity) - Indiana. Ron enjoyed golf and biking, but he treasured being with his grandchildren.

He was born on July 12, 1949, in Louisville, Kentucky. Preceded in death by his parents, Dr. James and Bernice Nolan, he is survived by his wife, Angela (Klein) Nolan; sons, Matthew Nolan (Rachel), Nicholas Nolan (Kelly), and Gregory Nolan (Megan); sister, Marilyn Ziegler (Al); brothers, Alan Nolan (Beth) and Brian Nolan; and five beautiful grandchildren, Natalie, Samuel, Anna, Adele, and Elizabeth.

His visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with rosary and eulogy services at 7:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church (129 West Daisy Lane, New Albany) with burial at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
