French Thomas "Frenchie" Thompson, 72, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018. He retired from Philip Morris in Louisville. Frenchie had a love for country and western movies and was also an avid fan of the University of Louisville Cardinals.
He was born on June 26, 1946, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to the late French L. Thompson and Helen Hobson. Frenchie was also preceded in death by his sister, Susie Hardin.
Frenchie is survived by his loving wife, Doris (Condon) Thompson; children, Brandi Cox, Marla Kay Thompson, Dante Thompson, Candi Phillips (Jon), Mark Cox (Shannon), and Alma Bryant-Romine; sisters, Mae Helen Edmonds and Netra Marsh; brother-in-law, Donald Hardin; 14 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A reception of family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Cremation will follow according to Frenchie's wishes.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
