Mark Vincent Slaughter

October 18, 1965 — August 14, 2016

Mark Vincent Slaughter, 50, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016. He was a graduate of New Albany High School where he participated in track and basketball. Mark was also a huge fan of the Louisville Cardinals. He was a member of Howard Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and loved to sing with the Brotherhood.

He was born on October 18, 1965, in Los Angeles, California, to Mary (Bailey) Slaughter and the late Roscoe Slaughter, Jr. Mark was also preceded in death by his brother, Roscoe "Humpy" Slaughter III.

Along with his mother, Mark is survived by his siblings, Beverly Crawford (Steven) and Dale Slaughter (Gina); godmother, Doris Southers; friend, Thomas Wimpsett; and a host of nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Cremation was chosen following Mark's wishes. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2016, at Howard Chapel Missionary Baptist Church (1715 East Market Street, New Albany) with his Memorial Service taking place at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at West Haven Cemetery in New Albany.
