Joseph Daniel Jackson, 69, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Friday afternoon, May 18, 2018, at his home surrounded by family. He was a 1966 graduate of Providence High School and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Jeffersonville. Joe possessed a great sense of humor, had a gift for storytelling, and loved being his grandkids’ Da-Doo. He enjoyed visiting the beach and spending time working on his home, both inside and out.

He was born on June 28, 1948, in Evansville, Indiana. Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Esther “Ya-Ya” (Gootee) Jackson.

Joe is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol (Mooney) Jackson; children, Jessica Lincoln (Matt) and Jeremy Jackson (Leigh); sister, Barbara Kochert (Gene); and grandchildren, Allie and Joe Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Wednesday after 10:00 a.m. at the church. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1840 East Eighth Street, Jeffersonville) with burial to follow at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.
