Matthew Lee “Matt” Upton, age 26 of Louisville, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017. He was a graduate of Eastern High School and played baseball with Louisville Blaze and Impact, which achieved a World Championship. Matt was formerly employed with Bill Collins Ford. He was a very loving husband and father, and friend to a great many people. Matt was preceded in death by his great-parents, Melvin Thomas and Martha Spencer, his grandmother, Betsy Upton; and his brother, Jason Spencer.

Matt is survived by his loving wife, Christina; his daughter, Hannah; step-children, Alex and Alyssa Thorpe; parents, Trenia and Dennis Upton; sister, Shelby Upton; grandmother, Martha Pence; mother and father-in-law, Bob and Patricia Bullock; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 1-8pm Friday, November 24, 2017 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown. A celebration of Matt’s life will be 11am on Saturday, November 25th at Newcomer. Burial will follow in Brookland Cemetery, 4895 N Preston Hwy, Shepherdsville, KY.
