1953 - 2016

Rick L. Romans, Sr., 63, of Marysville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016. Rick was drafted out of high school as a pitcher for the Kansas City Royals. He later went on to work as the associate scout for the Atlanta Braves and was a pitching coach for Charlestown High School and Indiana University-Southeast. Along with baseball, he was a very talented guitar player. Rick was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle in Sellersburg where he was in the music ministry and was on the Deacon Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James C. and Doris D. (Beard) Romans; and his brother, James C. Romans, Jr.

Rick is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dorece (Hall) Romans; sons, Michael Stricker (Bridget), Ricky Romans II (Jennifer), and Joshua Romans (Jazzy); brothers, Terry Romans (Diane) and Joseph Romans; and grandchildren, Cameron, Myha, Brooke, Mikayla, Drew, Kinley, and Kaylee.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 19, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
