Richard Lynn O’Bryan, 63, passed away on November 23, 2014 at his home. Dick was born in Daviess County on January 3, 1951. He graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School and from the University of Kentucky with a major in computer science. He met his future wife, Joann Hemlepp, while at UK; and they were married on June 15, 1974. Dick and Joanna got jobs at the Burroughs Corporation in Detroit where they lived and worked for over two years. Missing Kentucky and family, they moved to Louisville in 1976. Dick worked at Touche-Ross, Collectramatic, and NTS before founding a computer software company, Compass Limited Partners, which specializes in church, accounting, and manufacturing software for small to medium-sized organizations.

He was beloved husband, father and brother. Dick is preceded in death by his father, Bernard O'Bryan and his brother Larry O'Bryan.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joanna (Hemlepp) O’Bryan; his beloved daughters, Dianna Elena and Jodi Marina; his brothers, Don (Cathy) and Mike (Janet) O’Bryan; his sisters, Deborah Crowe (Terry), Marilyn Langan (David), and Bernice Howard (Lee) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Gathering will be from 4 to 8 PM on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville – off Shelbyville Road in Middletown). The funeral Mass will be at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Prospect on Tuesday December 2, 2014 at 10am.
