Leonard Gordon Yelton, Jr. , 78, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021.

He was born on May 22, 1942 in Union Mills, North Carolina to Leonard and Annie Mae Yelton. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Darrel Wayne Yelton. Leonard served our country in the U.S. Army post Korean War and retired as a truck driver. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars and spending time with his family.

Leonard is survived by his loving wife, Mary Yelton, children, Alan Yelton, Ronald (DeAnn) Yelton, Michelle Miller, and Leonard Gordon (Tracy) Yelton, III, along with 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 5:00 pm on Saturday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.

The family requests that contributions in Leonard ’s memory be made to the Veterans Association.
