In Memory Of
June Lindsey Allgood
1921 - 2015

June Lindsey Allgood, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully from this life, with her son and daughter in law by her side on November 25, 2015. She was the widow of Robert A. Allgood, who retired from Southern States Fertilizer and passed away in 1984.

She was born on December 1, 1921 in Lynchburg, Virginia; June was the daughter of the late Lewis S. Lindsey and Jeannette Christine Reid. She lived in Louisville from 1951 until 1969, where she was an active member of Lyndon Baptist Church. June taught the Four Year Old Sunday School Class for many years, was a proud member of the choir, the WMU, and a volunteer for anything that would serve her Lord.

June moved to Richmond, VA in 1969, following her husband’s career. When Robert died in 1984 she soon returned to her hometown of Lynchburg, VA., where her two sisters lived. After the death of her sisters in 2008, she moved to the Forum at Brookside in Middletown, KY to be near her son and daughter in law. She soon joined the First Baptist Church of Middletown, where she found the Family Pastor, David Lyninger, to be the child she had helped to raise in his early years.

In all her years, she was never an arm’s length from one of her Bibles. There wasn’t a day that she did not read the scriptures. When she became unable, there was always a volunteer to read from her Bible until her last day.

Mrs. Allgood is survived by her son, James Grayson Allgood, his wife Deborah, there nieces; Barbara Owen, Nancy Johnson, and Marjorie McGuire, and many great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters; Juanita L. Arthur and Eunice Ione Thomas.

A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Middletown, 11721 Main Street, Middletown, KY 40243, at 4:30pm on Saturday, December 5, 2015. Interment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery in Lynchburg, VA.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Way Forward at First Baptist Church of Middletown.
