Carol Ruth (Beare) Schleiger, 80, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. She had a contagious laugh and was always seen smiling. Carol adored her grandchildren and was supportive in everything they did. She was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and also a dog lover.
She was born on December 2, 1937, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Clifford, Sr., and Sarah (Clark) Beare. Carol was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Schleiger; son, Tim Schleiger; and siblings, Joanne Davis and Donald Beare.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Lori Scherer (Kent); grandchildren, Brady and Sabrina Knight; siblings, Edgar Beare (Doris), Clifford Beare, Jr. (Sharon), Kenny Beare, and Jean Davis (Danny); as well as many nieces and nephews.
Cremation was chosen following Carol’s wishes, and she will be laid to rest privately beside her husband at New Albany National Cemetery. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions – Southern Indiana Chapel was entrusted with her care.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Baptist Health Floyd for the excellent care they provided to Carol.
