Grace Evelyn (Manship) Schmidt, 91, of Floyds Knobs, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, with her loving family at her side. Grace was a homemaker and a long-time member of St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs. She loved camping, fishing, and playing Bunco. But above all else, Grace’s true love was her family.

She was born on July 29, 1926, in Orange County, Indiana, to the late Everett and Chloa (Pirtle) Manship. Along with her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Francis C. Schmidt; and her siblings, Dr. C. Stanley Manship, Kenneth Manship, Randel Manship, and Delores Laws.

She is survived by her children, Gary Schmidt (Sheila), Michael “Mike” Schmidt (Beverly), Anthony “Tony” Schmidt (Angela), Joseph “Joe” Schmidt (Sally), Kevin Schmidt, Karen Chastain (Carl), Lisa Chastain (Doug), Lynne Freiberger, and Cheryl Price (Stephen); 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Rex Manship, Alan Manship, Sherry Wright, and Connie Zehr.

Her Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Newcomer-Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 26, at St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church followed with burial in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus-the Community Hospice of Southern Indiana (502 Hausfeldt Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150).
