Eugene Wayne Grubbs, Sr., 81, of La Grange, Kentucky passed away on February 19, 2018.

He retired from Allied Ready Mix, was a member of the Elks Lodge #8 and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Gene was born on October 26, 1936 in Greenbriar, Tennessee to the late Daniel and Lorene (Cobb) Grubbs. He was also preceded in death by the mother of his children, Margaret Ann Grubbs, sisters Anita, Linda, brother James, granddaughter Emily Bryant and good friend Joan Sarley.

He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Ann Geiger (Richard), Susan Marie Bryant Thonen (Michael), son Eugene Wayne Grubbs, Jr. (Lynn), brothers Raydene Grubbs, William Grubbs (Margie), sisters Margie Lowe, Brenda Parrish and good friend Gordon Bryant. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Angela Cain (Micah), David Geiger (Mallory), Stephen Geiger (Mallory), Jessica VanHoose (Alex) and six great-grandchildren Aiden, Mason, Avery, Landon, Jackson and Lyla.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243).

Mass will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Edwards Catholic Church (9608 Sue Helen Drive Louisville, KY 40299) with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to The James Graham Brown Cancer Center.
