Stewart Martin "Stu" Willinger
1932 - 2017

Stewart “Stu” Martin Willinger, age 85 of Louisville, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017. He was the former Chief Executive Officer for Cummins Cumberland, Inc. He was a graduate of St. Xavier high school class of 1951 and Life Member of St. Joseph Catholic Orphan Society, American Legion, Kentucky Colonel and Air Force Association. Stu served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict serving in the construction of the Artic Distant Early Warning Line in Goose Bay, Labrador and other artic areas of the Air Force from May of 1952 until September of 1953. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Marie Willinger and his brother Louis “Bud” A. Willinger.

Stu is survived by his wife of fifty nine years, JoAnn; three children, Louis ”Andy” Willinger (Reggie), Mary Jude Kuiper (Scott) and Patricia “Patti” Edwards (Richard); brothers, Gerald “Pete” Willinger, Paul “P.J.” Willinger; eleven grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer), Erik, Travis, Courtney, Andrew, Grant, Madison, Meggie, Will, Max and Cami and two great-grandchildren, Cora and Reese; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass of Celebration will take place 12:30 pm on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Epiphany Catholic Church, 914 Old Harrods Creek Rd, Louisville, KY 40223 with a gathering at Epiphany to follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Xavier Student Aid Fund or Epiphany Catholic Church.
