Douglas Gene Bentley, 57, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017. He enjoyed spending time outdoors camping, fishing, and hunting. Doug was also an avid reader.

He was born on March 15, 1960, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Franklin and Mary Lou (Noble) Bentley. Doug is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Goldman) Bentley; children, Doug “Little Doug” Bentley, Jessica Gossett (Daniel), Janna Martinez (Ramon), and Kayla Blankenburg (PJ); sister, Maryetta Austin (John); niece, Jill Austin; nephews, Frank Austin and John Austin (Dava); grandchildren, Evelyn, Gabriel, Addy, Caitlyn, Zachary, and Avah; and great-niece and great-nephew, Ben and Abby.

Cremation was chosen following Doug’s wishes. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Autism Society (4340 East-West Highway, Suite 350, Bethesda, Maryland 20814) or to Autism Speaks (61 Clark Road North, Battle Creek, Michigan 49037).
