Estelle Louise Burdine-Dunkerson, age 72 of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023. Estelle was born on Sunday, January 14, 1951 in Louisville, Kentucky. She was the oldest of three sisters. Estelle attended Male High School and earned an associates degree from the Kentucky College of Business where she graduated with honors. Upon completion of her studies she began employment with the Commonwealth of Kentucky in their Food stamp division where she worked until her health no longer permit her to work.

She loved her daughter, Frances, her grandchildren, Dominique, Dakota and Shawn. Her great-grandchildren Graysen, Saughn, Jr. and Braylee were her heartbeats. She also loved her fur-baby, Mr. Bentley.

Estelle confessed a hope in Christ when she was young at the St. Paul Baptist Church and was baptized. Her faith kept her going. Estelle’s last prayer request to the chaplain was for God to watch over her family as she knew her time to join her mother, Frances, her Aunt Charlene, Uncle Brother (George Burdine) was at hand.

To cherish her memory and legacy is her daughter, Frances; grandchildren, Dominique, Dakota and Shawn along with their children. Also surviving are her loving sisters, Pamela Burdine and Tina Burdine-Brown; nieces, Tasha Cornett and Melissa Brown; and their children, Jabril, Zamaria, Demetria and Demarius. A host of cousins and friends that at the mention of her name will bring a smile.

A joyous celebration in honor of Estelle will be held at 4pm on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023 at St. George Community Center 1201 S. 26th Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40211. The family asked that if you wish to attend that you wear red, white, or gold.
