Wallace Kent "Wally" Smith, 81, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. He graduated from Borden High School in 1959 and went on to have a successful career as a homebuilder and trim specialist. Wally was a former member of Borden Community Church and Calvary Christian Church and a current member of Northside Christian Church.

He was born on September 4, 1941, to the late Peter Smith and Daisy (Morris) Smith-Farabee. In addition to his parents, Wally was preceded in death by his siblings, Geneva Clark and Harold Smith.

Wally is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jenene (Gray); children, Pamela Missi (Tony), Jill Brock (Keith), and Kent Smith (Alyssa); grandchildren, Jenna Grantz (Andrew), Shane Missi (Whitney), Drew Brock (Kelsey), Haley Brock, Alexis Geswein, and Matthew Smith; and great-grandchildren, Charlee Grantz, Garrison Grantz, Brynnlee Missi, Riley Missi, and August Brock.

Wally's wish was to be cremated, and a reception of family and friends will be from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a celebration of his life taking place at 6:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest privately at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Borden.

Contributions in Wally's memory may be made to the American Heart & Lung Association or to Gentiva Hospice (391 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, IN 47130).
