Donald William Rice, Sr., 72, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and fishing. Donnie was also a talented drummer and played in several local bands.

He was born on September 29, 1950, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to John Rice and Betty (Barbour) Saunders. In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by his siblings, Bobby Smith, David Rice, Cathy Watkins, and Donna Elsea.

Donnie is survived by his children, Donnie Rice, Jr., Jerry Rice (Teresa), and Bobbie Jones (Christopher); brothers, Tim (Peggy), Mike, and Richard Rice (Wanda); sister, Debbie Fanning; grandchildren, Nathan Swift, Jr., Austin League, Savannah Grant, and Adrianna Rice; great-grandchildren, Bella Swift and Charlie League; former wife, Donna (Spencer) Rice; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his funeral service taking place at 1:00 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
