Deanna Jo "Dee Jo" Whitaker, 50, passed away on December 2, 2022. She was a high school graduate of Butler High School, class of 1991 and went to college and received two associate degrees in business management. Deanna was an independent single mother who put herself through college while working. She was loving, caring and always willing to help others in need. She will be truly missed, but will forever live on in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her father, Phillip Whitaker, Sr; brother, Phillip Whitaker, Jr;, maternal grandparents; paternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

Deanna leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Brittany (Joey) Hart; mother, Faye Whitaker; sister, Pamela Miller; nieces, Jessica, Savannah, Phylisha and Vinnessa; nephews, Michael, Cody, Phillip, III and Thomas; great-nieces, Ashlynn, Aubrey, Ryliegh and Jenna; great-nephews, Bryson and Jordan and a very dear friend, Raymond "JR" Roberts.

Visitation will be Monday, December 12, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 4pm-8pm with a celebration of Deanna's life beginning at 6pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home for the expenses of Deanna's funeral services.
